Description
Pocket Pantry had a useful idea but too many steps between opening the app and finding dinner. Adding ingredients felt like keeping a spreadsheet, so people rarely came back.
We focused on the shortest route from the ingredients people had to something they wanted to cook. Tested prototypes helped us simplify entry and make recipe suggestions easier to scan.
We designed the ingredient entry, recipe and favourites screens, along with substitutions and a short shopping list. The tested flows gave the app build a clear set of screens and behaviours to follow.
After launch, people could add ingredients in less time and save useful recipes for later. Weekly use increased as finding dinner became less of a chore.
“It feels like a helpful nudge towards dinner, not another chore.”
